Witchcraft
Wicca is a religion that recognizes deity as dual. Worshipping both a god and a goddess. The sun commonly representing the god, while the moon commonly represents the goddess.
It is a religion that uses archetypes, and symbols. Those in the Wiccan religion see divinity in all things of nature, and feel the goddess and god in all living things. They believe in the "Law of Three" and uphold the Wiccan Rede which states "harm none, do what ye will".
There are eight sabbats that celebrate times of the seasons, which honor the goddess and god, and is a time to give thanks for all that's been done during the year.
Wicca and Witchcraft uses and integrates what is metaphysical (Magick). Not the hocus pocus, or wond-weilding fireworks display shown in the media and books like Hary Potter (::shudder::). This kind of magick harnesses the energy of nature, deity, and the universe that surrounds us to perform rituals and spellwork.
Basic Foundation of Belief
Those who practice Witchcraft most often hold a belief in reincarnation, karma, connecting with energy that lives in all things, ghosts and spirits, and other metaphysical principles. - SpringWolf PagansPath.com
What Witchcraft Isn't!
Witchcraft is not Satanism or a Devil Worship religion as some prejudices claim. Pagans do not believe in the existence of the Devil. It would be difficult to worship that type of spirit when you don't believe it exists in the first place. This is a concept created by the early Catholic Church to force pagans to repent and convert to Christianity. - SpringWolf PagansPath.com
